What Is Happening?

The Bible says very clearly that God is very mindful of Egypt. The Scriptures contain hundreds of references to Egypt - much of it harsh. Central to it all is that "Egypt shall know that I am the LORD" (Ez.29:6) -- even it entails many rigors for Egypt to gain this realization.
The broad sweep of endtime history for Egypt is presented in Is.19, culminating in God's purpose for Egypt one day:
"And the LORD will strike Egypt, He will strike it and heal it; they will return to the Lord, and He will be entreated by them and heal them.
"In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria [geographically Iraq; the 'Assyrians' are its indigenous people], and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians.
"In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria - a blessing in the midst of the land,
"Whom the LORD OF HOSTS shall bless, saying, "Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance." Is. 19:22-25
God is certainly not done with Egypt. Events of this week, riots and upheaval, are more the throes of God shaking Egypt -as well as all of the Middle East AND the nations of the world--to bring in the order that HE INTENDS.
So it is THE LORD OF HOSTS, the MIGHTY ONE who is coming for His Bride, that has an eye on Egypt and calls her "MY PEOPLE."
In this light all of Egypt's history has been a running commentary on God's advances toward her and her responses. It's not over. He shall yet have her heart and hand.
