Good Day My Friend,
Lately when I’ve prayed or am about to pray, I’ve felt impressed that it’s very important to think first, and NOT to pray the usual prayers most people pray. To consider the fact that many prayers of good people are not answered. Why ? Is what we are praying in line with truth ? I actually feel convicted that it’s not only useless to pray many of the prayers we hear but that it takes away from our faith.
Mark 4: 24, 25, shows a principle ‘ Take heed what you hear… to you that hear, shall more be given for to he that hath, to him shall be given, and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath…..’ What we hear affects us, what we speak affects us, and if we are praying words that are not in agreement with truth ( the highest form of reality ) we will not be receiving answers as God has fully planned and paid for us to have.
Been contemplating this for some time already. Thought I would share my thoughts with you concerning it. Something that seemed to me some time ago not to matter all that much, has in fact become more and more in focus to me, and I believe it is an important matter amongst believers that is a real factor in people not experiencing more of the joy of the Lord, not receiving answers to prayers, and not experiencing the position of victory that is ours in Christ...
Many believers have the concept when they pray, their prayers have to reach past the ceiling so to speak. They are praying to a God way up in heaven, whom they hope hears them, and are waiting for him to send the answers down to them. It’s with an expectation and hope that is futuristic. That God is going to respond in a future time ( hopefully not too long a wait ).
They pray, ‘ God we come before you today’ or, ‘ Father in Heaven, we approach you today with our request ‘. That is not in line with what scripture reveals as truth. If we can come into his presence today, that means some time previous we left his presence and now we are coming into it again. That is not biblical at all for the new testament child of God. And so often it is with a begging type mentality as if we are coming to God on the basis of his pity, and if he can be convinced of the severity of the situation, then more likely he will answer us.
The mentality that God is up there, we are down here, and we are waiting for him to bless, or to heal, or to deliver, or to send the answer. Many very well meaning Christians, who absolutely love God and desire God’s will in their lives, tend to have the thinking that they would receive more answers to prayer if they could convince God of how terrible they feel and how sorry they really are that they did that wrong thing last week, if they could convince God of how much they need that request answered ( how important and necessary it is ), and if they can impress God with the understanding that they know and realize they are as worms before him, unworthy, insignificant nothings who are totally dependent upon God’s benevolence, but please, please, help me out in this matter, I beg of you, God. Then after praying they are waiting for him to answer, with expectation towards the future.
I am not trying to make fun of, or belittle anyone. I see it as a serious fundamental flaw in what people have been taught for so many years by religion, and it doesn’t work...
Even in Gen. God said to the first Adam he gave him dominion over ALL the works of his hands on the earth, that he put everything under his subjection that moveth upon the earth. We are of the second Adam which is a higher order than the first. The first Adam was made a living soul but the second Adam a life giving spirit ! In Heb 12, I believe it is where it states further about us that al things are under our subjection and God having put all things under subjection left not out anything not under subjection. Powerful when one studies that whole passage and the old testament where it is quoted from.
If one looks at many of the songs in the churches they are full of, Oh God please, or Oh God we need. It causes a mindset of begging Him up there, to please look down on us here, with pity, and please do something about our situation ! That thinking takes away what is necessary to receive from God –faith. The truth is he already HAS done everything about our situation. He sent Jesus and he died for us. It says, ‘ the works were finished from the foundation of the world ‘ It says ‘ All things ARE ours in Christ Jesus ‘ Our prayers do not have to get through the ceiling for he is with us. He said, ‘ I will never leave you nor forsake you ‘ We are not coming into and out of his presence. He is with us always. He said, ‘ Out of our bellies will flow rivers of living water ‘ We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. People are expecting it to come from up in heaven but that not’s correct.
Does it say in 1 Jn 4:4 ‘ Ye are of God little children and will overcome them ? No, it says, ‘ Ye have overcome them ! How ? ‘because greater is he that is in heaven than he that is in the earth ‘ ??? NO, It says, greater is he that is in you !! He is in us. Rom 8:11 says, ‘ If the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwell in you, ‘ He dwells within our spirit ! It says we are of God, little children, ( hail from, originate from, come from, born of )
‘ Whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world ‘ … ( we are born of him are we not ? ) It does not say we will overcome the world, it says we have overcome the world, therefore our prayer should not be, please God help me to overcome but rather, Thank you God for the truth and the reality that in Christ Jesus I have already overcome the world ! ‘ And this is the victory that overcometh the world , even our faith. ‘ Does it say the answer we are looking for is dependent upon God’s pity or does it say, ‘ according to your faith, so be it unto you ‘
Then we should check what faith is, how it comes to us, can we increase it ? Is it God who is holding back the answers from us or is it our responsibility if we are not receiving answers ?
NO, it says, ‘ they which receive ‘ ( gr. lambano – active form of the verb, to take ahold of, to grasp, to make it yours ) The responsibility in receiving is very different than the responsibility of the giver. It is freely given to all but those who reign in life are those who have received.

Rom 12 : 2 explains it is the renewing of our mindset that transforms, metamorphosis, change of state, change of being.
We are to pray to the Father in the P.O.A.[Power of Attorney] of the name of Jesus. We HAVE POA ( power of attorney , the legal right to decree a thing ) in the name of Jesus, whose name is above every name. It is an insult to Jesus and to God to beg using the POA of the highest name there is. To beg indicates we have no idea of what POA is and in whose name we have POA !!!
Kings decree. Rev 1:5,6 says We have been made kings. Let’s speak to our situations as the kings he has made us to be ! Ecc says where the word of a king is there is power !

for the beginner's of prayer, I would suggest the following: pray through the Psalms of King David. There - you will understand more about the prayer.
